1.1 The Chair welcomed Members to the meeting of the Children, Young People and Education Committee.

2       Welsh Government Draft Budget 2024-25 - evidence session 2

2.1 The Committee scrutinised the Minister on the draft budget.

2.2 The Minister agreed to provide a note on the following:

- a full breakdown of the £74.7 million resource funding that it announced in October would be moving from the Education and Welsh Language MEG in 2023-24.

- An outline how much the Welsh Government are expecting to ringfence for degree apprenticeships within the HEFCW/CTER budget line and whether they are expecting any transfers for degree apprenticeships from the Economy MEG within the 2024-25 financial year.

- When available the latest figures on reserves held by schools.

- Further information on the support and opportunities in place for the early years workforce.

2.3 The Committee agreed to write to the Deputy Minister for Mental Health and Wellbeing for further information on the Wales Police Schools Programme.
